The following Global Agricultural Information Network (GAIN) reports were released on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.    Chile: Exporter Guide   This report provides information to U.S. exporters of agricultural and related products on how to do business in Chile. The United States is Chile's second-largest supplier of agricultural and related products after Argentina. Top U.S. products exported to Chile are beer, pork, wheat, feeds & fodders, dairy products, poultry, condiments & sauces, and beef. Chile is the second-largest market in South America for consumer-oriented agricultural products after Colombia. This category of products represented 63 percent of all U.S. agricultural and related exports to Chile from January to October 2020, reaching $546 million, a seven percent decrease over the same period in 2019. Factors behind this decline are related to COVID-19 sanitary measures in place since mid-March 2020, and the depreciation of the Chilean peso (CLP) against the U.S. dollar (USD) since October 2019. Ghana: Exporter Guide   Though down by four places on the World Bank's Ease of Doing Business ranking, the Ghanaian food market remains a great prospect for U.S. exporters. U.S. agricultural exports to Ghana increased nearly 7 percent to $135 million in 2019. Available 2020 data indicates that major slowdowns in economic activity slashed Ghana's agricultural imports by as much as a fifth from the year prior. U.S. exports showed greater resiliency, down by only 12 percent in that period, and remain well-poised to rebound in 2021.  Thailand: Thailand's Food Trends in 2021   The global COVID-19 health crisis changed the behavior of consumers, increasing their preference towards products that support immune systems and enhance their wellness. At the same time, food and beverage products produced sustainably are becoming more popular as consumers become more aware of the impact the products they consume have on the environment. Turkey: Turkey Approves Three More Biotech Traits   On January 23, 2021, the Turkish Government published the Biosafety Decisions on import of genetically engineered (GE) soybean and corn events in the Official Gazette. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry approved two soybean events and one corn event for feed.
