Feeling overwhelmed? 🌿

Hi There,

It's Friday! (Yay?) And, to be honest, I'm feeling a little overwhelmed and pulled in all directions. How about you?

My 4-year old is tucked in next to me, and keeps asking questions about every letter I type and every single icon on the screen. (It's sweet, but still a bit overwhelming!) And there's errands to run, homeschool to track, pets to care for, family to check in on.

I think we all feel that sense of overwhelm from time to time.  And if you're not careful, all of a sudden you feel just completely buried.

So, but there's something I do that helps reduce that overwhelm.  On the weekend, I take a deep breath, put everything aside to plan and prep for the week.

That simple act of meal planning and prepping ahead takes time now, but will make next week a whole lot easier.

Here's the game plan:

  • Plan your meals for next week. I like to do this the old-fashioned way with a pen and paper, but Real Plans is a cool app that let's you plug in your preferences, and it'll generate a meal plan and shopping list for you.
  • Make a big pot of broth, and you can sip a mug each morning or use it throughout the week for soups. This is my favorite recipe for chicken bone broth.
  • Chop some veggies. Chopping leafy greens, dicing onions, slicing carrot sticks and prepping other vegetables in advance makes it easier to put dinner together at the last minute.
  • Bake a loaf of bread. My no-knead sourdough is the go-to for our family. If you're not a baker, you can also have sourdough delivered to your door from Wild Grain.
  • Brew a pot of tea, and rest

Hope this was helpful!

Thanks so much,
