As much as I've always enjoyed cold brew coffee, it was never something I had the pleasure of drinking every day. Like pour overs and lattes, I used to consider cold brews to be pretty fancy—and thought the task of making them should be left to baristas and coffee connoisseurs.
For a long time, I only drank cold brews when I was out and about (and willing to spend upwards of $7 on a cup of joe). Recently, though, I added the Oxo cold brew coffee maker to my kitchen lineup—and now I always have delicious, freshly made cold brew in my fridge.
This machine produces a strong, highly-concentrated cold brew that rivals expensive drinks I've gotten at coffee shops. I've used it with a variety of coffee beans and roast levels, and I can expect the results to have a smooth, bold flavor and balanced acidity every time. I love that it allows me to customize the drink to my preferences—and as a person who prefers the taste of darker roasts, I appreciate that it seamlessly produces a rich coffee with nutty, chocolaty notes and no bitterness. It works wonders for lighter roasts, too, producing a result that's so delicious and well-balanced that I can drink it black.
If you're looking for the easiest (and perhaps most affordable) way to treat yourself to stellar iced coffee on the daily, this is it.
