Dohn Community High School in Cincinnati announced its closure on Friday, citing financial difficulties. The closure affects about 650 students. The school was initially set to close at the end of the school year. Now, families are scrambling to find new schools for their children. Students plan to gather at Dohn today to say farewell to the high school. The National Veterans Memorial Museum in Columbus offered Vietnam veterans a welcome home ceremony, while the Miami Valley Military History Museum in Fairborn held a pinning ceremony for local vets and their spouses or widows. Adena recognized Vietnam veterans in a ceremony and dedicated a bridge to an Adena native killed in action in Binh Dinh Province. This Saturday, the city of Mason will host a welcome home parade for veterans. "Vietnam vets didn't get that welcome home. ... It wasn't right," Mason city council member Mark Haake said. | |
