Highway Patrol Superintendent Charles A. Jones delivered the agency's annual State of the Patrol address, highlighting a decrease in fatal crashes and distracted driving incidents.

Jones noted phone use while driving was down for the second straight year since Ohio enacted its distracted driving law, the only state reporting that kind of success.

He announced the ACT 2025 plan to combat impaired driving, with the agency hoping for a 10% reduction in fatal and injury-causing crashes this year. Watch his entire address here.

Communities across Ohio are hosting events marking the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War's end. National Vietnam War Veterans Day is observed on March 29 each year.

The National Veterans Memorial Museum in Columbus offered Vietnam veterans a welcome home ceremony, while the Miami Valley Military History Museum in Fairborn held a pinning ceremony for local vets and their spouses or widows.

Adena recognized Vietnam veterans in a ceremony and dedicated a bridge to an Adena native killed in action in Binh Dinh Province.

This Saturday, the city of Mason will host a welcome home parade for veterans. "Vietnam vets didn't get that welcome home. ... It wasn't right," Mason city council member Mark Haake said.
