Instead, Vance urged Greenlanders to embrace self-determination and sever ties with Denmark, which has controlled the region since 1721. The Vice President criticized Denmark's stewardship of the country, saying it's less secure than it was decades ago. New Mexico, Kansas, and Oklahoma have also linked local outbreaks to the Texas cases. Medical experts recommend that people with suspected cases of the highly contagious virus should take precautions before visiting a doctor’s office or the emergency room. | Asian Earthquake Death Toll Climbs Past 1,600 The death toll from the powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar jumped on Saturday as search efforts continued. The country's government said 1,644 people are dead and another 3,408 are injured, with at least 139 others missing. In neighboring Thailand, the quake rocked the greater Bangkok area and other parts of the country. The Thai capital is more than 800 miles from the epicenter of Friday's earthquake, but it caused the destruction of an unfinished high-rise building. Myanmar's military continued airstrikes against a rebel-controlled village in the minutes after the quake. The country has been in the midst of a civil war since the military seized power from the elected government in February 2021. Enjoy reading The Flyover?
