Superior HealthPlan CEO Mark Sanders was fired Friday after state investigators accused the company of using taxpayer funds to hire private investigators to gather personal data on patients and lawmakers.

During a House committee hearing on Wednesday, Sanders claimed the company relied only on public records, but emails showed the company had hired private investigators to dig into patients' backgrounds.

Centene Corporation, the parent company of Superior HealthPlan, expressed its disapproval of the actions taken by Sanders when they announced his dismissal.

Lawmakers called the tactics a betrayal of trust during the hearing. Here's a video from the session.

Article Icon 1 Parole Denied for Selena's Killer

Yolanda Saldívar, convicted of murdering Tejano music star Selena Quintanilla-Pérez in 1995, was denied parole Thursday, just days before the 30th anniversary of Selena's death.

Saldívar was removed as president of Selena's fan club and manager of Selena Etc. boutiques over embezzlement allegations before she shot and killed the singer-songwriter.

The parole board, citing the brutality of Saldívar's crimes and her "conscious disregard" for others, denied her release; her next review is scheduled for March 2030.

Selena's family expressed gratitude for the board's decision, posting on social media, "While nothing can bring Selena back, this decision reaffirms that justice continues to stand."

A Texas woman, on her way to the beach with her husband and three children, unexpectedly went into early labor while making a stop at a local Walmart.

Serena Mancera was in the restroom and her husband was paying at the register when she began shouting for help.

A Walmart customer and employee helped take care of the couple's three kids as an ambulance rushed them to a Galveston hospital, where Serena gave birth to Juan Daniel Mancera Jr.

Serena expressed her gratitude on social media, posting, "Thank you, Walmart, for experiencing this with me. I could not have done this alone!"

This brand of dog food beats traditional kibbles 39-0 in a third-party taste test. What's your pup waiting for?

Sundays is no regular dog food. Their recipes stick to a short list of human-grade meats, fruits, and vegetables to ensure dogs are fed to a higher standard. And unlike other human-grade dog foods, Sundays needs no fridge, no prep, no cleanup, and no hassle. Just pour into a bowl and watch your pup devour it.

Because every batch is made and air-dried in the US for over 11 hours, these tasty jerky-style pieces retain maximum nutrition to help your dog look and feel its best (while loving what they are eating).
