And find out how we like to move during lockdown
| | | | | | hello everyone | | Hope you're having a lovely week. We've been obsessing over sourdough in our house, learning about bulk fermentation, how best to score a loaf before baking and the perfect cook time. It's meant a lot of delicious, bread-centred meals, and so many little fried pancakes using the excess starter.
In amongst all the bread making and eating, we've been exercising more to give us a little lockdown boost. I've been doing lots of the yoga videos from the app and I'm aiming to master the splits and inversions again soon. I haven't been able to do anything life that since I got pregnant with Skye two years ago and I'm excited to feel that strong again. Meanwhile, Matt has been getting stuck into the cardio and strength sections. We're getting up before the girls in the morning to fit it in - I find it so much easier to work out first thing, my motivation is always higher and I love how it sets me up for a more focused, positive day.
Did you know that studies show exercise can significantly improve our mental health? Exercise activates the brain's reward system, increases brain connectivity, improving mood and concentration, and even reduces depressive symptoms (active people are 14-16% less likely to develop depression).
In this spirit of this, we've not only added a whole load of new workouts to our app, but have also kicked off a week of free Instagram workouts with some of our brilliant instructors from the app, so we can workout together as a community while we're all at home. The full schedule is below - we hope you enjoy them and they bring a little extra motivation to your week.
Can't wait to see you there!
Lots of love,

The sweet potato wedges are roasted in paprika and olive oil until they are soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. They're then topped in heaps of homemade avocado salsa, crunchy red onions, spicy jalapenos and coriander. We love to drizzle our favourite hot sauce over the top but it's also delicious on its own. | | | | | | | | | | | | our instagram live workouts are back | | Our Instragram Live workouts are back, with some of our favourite instructors from our app. From yoga, to HIIT, as well as pregnancy friendly workouts, we hope there is something to help give you a little extra motivation to move this week.
We can't wait to see you on the mat! | | | | | | | | | | | delicious ways to feel better; the podcast | | | | | | | | | | | Can a Plant-Based Diet Revolutionise Your Health? | | This week we're talking to Dr Alan Desmond about the science behind a plant-based diet, the latest research and how it can help all of our wellbeing.
Alan is an NHS consultant with over twenty years of clinical experience, specialising in gastroenterology and the effect what we eat has on both our gut health and our overall wellbeing. | | | | | | | | | | | | my lockdown lift: sourdough | | I'm obsessed (again). My Mum left me some of her mother – the sourdough starter – at our doorstep last week and I've been loving and nurturing it round the clock. It's a real labour of love and a fantastic lesson in patience. It takes about five hours to ferment and stretch the dough the night before you bake, so it also gives me a great focus in the empty evenings at the moment.
I'm still perfecting my recipe - but I'll share it with you all once it's ready. | | | | | | | | | | | |
