This week, I’m sharing some of my favorite ways to use the slow cooker during the summer, and today’s recipe is probably the one I make most often.
I make this Basic Slow Cooker Shredded Chicken weekly or at least every other week, all year long.
You can make a batch on Sunday and use it in different meals throughout the week. You can also start it in the morning and have cooked chicken ready for dinner that night.
Either way, having this chicken in the refrigerator gives you so many options when you need something quick.
You can also use this chicken for quesadillas, Caesar salads, enchiladas, barbecue chicken sandwiches, pasta dishes, casseroles, and soups.
My Favorite Tools for Prepping Shredded Chicken
Hamilton Beach 6-Quart Programmable Slow Cooker
This is the slow cooker I use every week. It’s the perfect size for making a large batch of shredded chicken, and the programmable settings make it easy to let dinner cook while I’m working.
These are helpful for freezing shredded chicken in measured portions. Once frozen, you can transfer the portions to a freezer bag and take out only what you need.
