Last week, July 20-24, our Lifespan Waiver team at the Office of Aging and Disability Services, completed a stop in five cities around Maine: Bangor, Caribou, Augusta, Lewiston, and Portland. In the mornings, we met mainly with service providers. In the afternoons, we met with individuals, families, and advocates. We also offered a Zoom option for the Portland sessions, which allowed many people to join online. Now that we are back in the office, we are reviewing all the questions, comments, and feedback we received about the Lifespan Waiver. We still want to hear from you. We sincerely thank everyone who has helped make learning about the Lifespan Waiver possible. We are especially thankful to those who attended last week’s events, asked questions, shared ideas, and took time to learn more. Our goal is to make the Lifespan Waiver a strong and helpful resource for people with intellectual disabilities or autism and their families.
