How to make cooking more fun (and less of a chore)
Hey there friend,
So by now, you've got your….
All that's left to do is — start cooking!
If you're going to be spending time in the kitchen, let's make cooking a JOY, reader.
We have a few ideas on how to spark some fun...
Prep ahead of time
Gather and prep ingredients for your meals throughout the week all on one day — this is when you'll do the chopping πͺ — that way you can just grab what you need when you're ready to cook it all together at mealtime.
Grab a drink
Pour a glass of wine, make an agua fresca or your favorite seltzer — and sip while you stir.
Set the tone
Literally. Play some music or watch your favorite show!
In the Pinch of Yum studio kitchen, we listen to this playlist on Spotify. We highly recommend it for a relaxing, chill time. Of course, kitchen dance parties and a poppy playlist is always encouraged (Taylor Swift's 1989 album might just be the ticket).
Set up a screen
It can be annoying to cook from a tiny phone screen, so we suggest pulling up recipes on a laptop or tablet, so you can follow the instructions with ease.
Get someone involved
If you have a partner/roommate/family in your house, get them involved in the process too!
Make recipes you're excited about
Don't add recipes to your menu that you're not totally excited to make (and eat!) at the end of the day. When you're actually looking forward to the delicious outcome, we promise you'll enjoy the time you put in so much more.
We're excited for you to love being in your kitchen too!
When you make something — or when you're all set up and ready to cook, drink in hand and music playing — tag us on Instagram. We want to celebrate with you!
