The UK left the EU in January 2020 and the transition period ended on 31 December 2020.

With respect to civil explosives please see the following links for updates on:

 

Transfers of civil explosives


There are new rules for transfers of civil explosives from outside the UK into GB

 

The ICT system is no longer applicable for transfers into GB and you will need a new GB transfer approval.



Traceability of civil explosives


The UK requirement for civil explosives to be marked with a unique identification has not changed.

 

Guidance on traceability coding can be found at identification and traceability of explosives and applying for a site identification code.



Placing civil explosives on the market


There are new rules for placing civil explosives on the market.

 

The UKCA mark will replace the CE mark for civil explosives placed on the UK market.


Legislation


For more information on the legislative amendments which have been made to bring these changes into effect, please see Amendments to the Explosives Regulations to support the UK's exit from the EU.

 

New and separate rules exist for Northern Ireland.
