This report outlines Ecuador's requirements for food and agricultural product imports. The following sections of the FAIRS Country Report are updated in 2020: Section I - New laws were included in this section and some were updated; Section X - Trade Facilitation has been included reflecting the latest information available. Hyperlinks to ministries, agencies, and legal documents are provided throughout this updated report.
This report identifies Ecuador's import requirements for foreign export certificates, highlighting current procedures and identifying the relevant local agencies with oversight over these issues. An export certificate matrix and outline is included. This report supplements the FAS Quito Food and Agricultural Import Regulations (FAIRS) 2020 report. The 2019 FAIRS report provides up to date information on the regulations and procedures for the importation of food and agricultural products to Ghana. Imports of poultry and poultry products from five European countries are banned. Ghana has announced a new export requirement for Poultry & Poultry products and Beef & Beef products. Effective Jan 02, 2020, all FSIS export certificates accompanying these products must be signed by a FSIS veterinarian, and the veterinary degree (DVM or equivalent) indicated after the signature.
This report provides information on the certificates required for the importation of food and agricultural products into Ghana, plus further information on food product registration, labeling, import permits and other relevant information to assist U.S. exporters. New information includes export certificate protocols for sheep and goats as well as ovine and caprine embryos/semen, which the Government of Ghana approved in 2020. Ghana now allows USDA Accredited Veterinarians to use USDA's online Veterinary Export Health Certification System (VEHCS) to complete health certificates. This report complements the FAIRS Annual Country Report for Ghana.
On January 4, 2021, the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India (GOI) confirmed the occurrence of highly pathogenic influenza (HPAI) virus of serotype H5N8 in several locations in the state of Kerala. Subsequently, on January 9, 2021, the GOI confirmed the same to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).

The Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) enhanced inspection list for food imports in calendar year 2021 contains no U.S. products. Ongoing engagement from FAS Taipei helped ensure the removal of blueberries and onions, the last two U.S. products on the list.
On December 31, 2020, the Government of Turkey (GoT) published a Presidential Decision Decree (PDD) that changed the import tariff for in-shell and shelled walnuts to 15 percent for all origins, bringing it to the same level before August 2020. Oversight (or reference) price system was reintroduced.
