Raise your hand if you still feel hungry after eating dinner! This means you’re probably not eating the right foods for your last meal of the day. Or, worse, you may not be eating enough at breakfast and lunch. |
"If you're going long periods of time without eating, you may feel a lot of pressure to have a super-filling dinner, which makes complete sense!” says Lexy Penney, MS, RD, LDN, RYT, and owner of Lexy Penney Nutrition and Wellness. “If we under-eat during the day, we may overeat at night." |
But, if that’s not the issue, know that there are particular dinner foods that can keep you full for the rest of the evening—all you have to do is make sure they make it onto your plate. |
Registered dietitians and nutrition experts alike recommend adding three important elements to your dinner dish: protein, fiber, and healthy fats—all of which should be coming from whole foods. |

A good combination of protein, healthy fats, and a small amount of carbohydrates are the perfect way to design a balanced meal." |
