Monday, 6 July 2026 REMINDER MEDIA ADVISORY Embargoed WHO press conference on the launch of the Global Status Report on Cancer 2026When: Monday, 6 July 2026, 15:30 CEST What: WHO and its International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) will present key findings from the upcoming Global Status Report on Cancer 2026. This report provides the first comprehensive analysis of global progress in cancer prevention and control, while identifying critical gaps that remain. The report synthesizes the latest evidence on the burden, trends, risk factors, health system response, and persistent inequities in access to prevention and care. Taking a strong people‑centred perspective, the report underscores that behind every statistic are individuals, families and communities whose lives are profoundly affected by cancer. It reinforces cancer as a major global public health priority and sets out actionable strategies to accelerate progress. The report and the contents of the press conference are embargoed until Wednesday, 8 July 2026, 14:00 CET. Early access to the report is offered to journalists only.
