Hi reader,
Anytime I make a meal plan, I try to think of how to re-use the major players each week.
(Major players are the ingredients that if you were to remove, your meal plan would fall apart. For example, if you were planning on ground beef burgers but took away the ground beef, you'd have to think of something else!)
By re-using the major players, I'm usually able to stretch meat, vegetables, side dishes, and sometimes even sauces across multiple meals.
One of the most popular posts on my blog is how to stretch one pork loin into seven meals. In short, you start with one big pork roast and plan ahead so that you end up with a week full of meal ideas, including:- Pulled pork sandwiches
- Tacos
- Pizza
- Burrito bowls
- Baked potato bar
- Nachos
- Leftover buffet
This concept works for chicken and beef as well, but what's most important here is realizing we're not just winging it from night to night, crossing our fingers, and hoping that some awesome dinner idea will jump out at us while we stand in front of the refrigerator door.
It's the STRATEGY that makes this work.
I teach this strategy in my course Meal Planning Bootcamp, and to celebrate enrollment that's opening VERY soon, I'm hosting a FREE 5-day challenge called Meal Planning Made Easy.
The challenge starts August 5th - NEXT WEEK!! - and every day I'll send out a short training video with a practical homework assignment via email. Then I'll go live at 2pm ET in our private Facebook group and go deep on the meal planning issues that are the most difficult, including:- Staying motivated to meal plan (to save money, time, and stress - no more wondering what's for dinner!)
- What to do when you don't want to follow the plan (what to do before you stray, so your efforts (and food) aren't wasted)
- How to stick with it for the long-run (Simple ways to get on and stay on the meal planning bandwagon)

Mark your calendar, the fun begins soon!
