We have had some fun the last few weeks, and longer, watching our Detroit Lions play and actually win, and win again! Until they didn't.... It's too bad for the city, the state, and for those of us who were getting all geared up to make a huge fuss over a Lions' Super Bowl (food spread) this year. My super-fan nephew has given the team his all!!
We'll still make a spread, which perhaps much like yours is anchored by dips and crunchers. In case you missed it last week, the roasted red pepper dip that is Muhammara is a must. Make a big batch because it's so darn scoop-able with veggies and pita chips. Dan's one dip is a crazy huge amount, so I have to make a lot to accommodate for that factor.... This dip might even elbow out the smooth hummus, but you didn't hear me say that! There's room for all of this and more on a Mezze Platter.
Scroll down for my stick-to-your-ribs favorite recipes for Game Day. A recent 5-Star comment about my kafta recipe on the site is a thrill and a great endorsement:
"Best Kafta I ever ate! And I married into a Lebanese family from Beirut!"
Also, I'm excited about our new "Habibi" items in the shop, which have sold out in one day! More is on order so you can still shop now and get yours and other treats for Valentine's Day and beyond.
Bless your hands, Habibi!
Beef Kafta.
Ohhh the flavor! It's all here. Make them like this, kebab-style, or as little killer kafta bites that are also so very delectable.
