This coming month we'll see the first day of spring and the promise of longer, sunnier days. ☀️ The start of a new season always gives me fresh baking inspiration. And I'm definitely taking advantage as I face my cookbook's looming deadline. ๐
But I will certainly revisit an old favorite in March: my late grandmother's recipe for Irish Soda Bread.
Let's take a look at some of February's highlights.
Every year, this red velvet cake sees a surge of bakers around Valentine's Day... for good reason! ❤️ But any special occasion would benefit from this buttery soft and velvety cake.

"...my very first layer cake and it was perfect in every way! The crumb was perfect, the flavor was the best of any red velvet cake I have ever eaten (and I am a connoisseur), and the icing was so easy and yummy. I made this for a small dinner party before Valentine's Day and it was a complete hit! I will make this again and again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐" - Stephanie

"Delicious and beautiful!! Many steps over 2 days but all steps very manageable and clearly explained. The pastry cream is so luxurious, the layers are flaky and I'm so happy I tried the challenge!!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐" - Sheila
Here's What You've Been Baking ✨
Sally's baking recipes around the world! My team and I love seeing my recipes in your kitchen. (Many readers share recipe photos on the Facebook page & in the Facebook group.)
95% of my working time has been dedicated to my book, so you haven't seen many new recipes on my website since December. Here's my latest Cookbook Recipe Testing update. Since then, I've worked on a dozen more new recipes!
My manuscript deadline is in April. I'm thrilled to bring this massive project together, but I still have a lot of work to do. The book will be published in 2025, and once I know details, I will share.
"This recipe came out perfect made exactly as written. The flavors go perfectly together. The buttermilk with sharp cheddar are a perfect match for the rich butter and egg bread dough. The video on how to form the loaf and the hint to cover the loaf with foil early in the baking process made it an absolute success... ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐" - Lenny
"Don't even think about it — just make this now! I've baked literally thousands of desserts in my 65 years and I can say without reservation that this is the most delicious thing that ever came out of my kitchen. My dinner guests practically gasped after the first bite and my husband insists it must go into regular rotation forever. The salted caramel sauce is essential and is the easiest (and most foolproof) caramel sauce I've ever made... ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐" - Mary Anne
"This is the best donut recipe on the face of the internet. Wow! I made these last night and I had one this morning… Oh my gosh, so soft and not too sweet!! I've tried multiple other donut recipes but they always soak up too much oil or they go bad by the next day… Not this recipe. I highly, highly recommend this if you're craving donuts... ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐" - Amanda
