MyPlate National Strategic Partners Spotlight: Multi-Partner MiPlato Toolkit During this year's National Minority Health Month (NMHM), the MyPlate team wants to thank our National Strategic Partners, a key part of our Nutrition Communicators Network, for their work to support USDA's efforts to improve nutrition security and to reach historically underserved communities impacted by diet-related disease. This year's NMHM theme, "Better Health Through Better Understanding," focuses on the importance of health literacy, culturally competent care, and improved access to information for people with limited English proficiency. One notable example of meeting this need through the power of partnership is the MiPlato toolkit, developed through a collaboration of multiple National Strategic Partners. Downloadable in Spanish and English, this multi-component toolkit includes sample and customizable meal plans, meal tips and recipes to create healthier versions of cultural favorites, and a guide for health professionals. The toolkit demonstrates how MyPlate can be the foundation for healthy, budget-conscious eating that reflects cultural foodways. It is an actionable, easy-to-use resource developed jointly by McCormick Science Institute, Hass Avocado Board, Grain Foods Foundation, and Egg Nutrition Center.
