Schools Offer Free Credit Monitoring After Breach

Memphis-Shelby County Schools is offering free credit monitoring to students and staff affected by a major data breach involving PowerSchool software.

The December 2024 breach exposed personal information, including names, addresses, birthdates, and possibly Social Security numbers and medical details.

Despite filing a lawsuit, the district renewed its contract with PowerSchool, citing ongoing evaluation.

Affected people must enroll by July 31 for identity protection services. You can enroll here.

TDOT Halts Lane Closures for July 4 Travel

Tennessee drivers can expect smoother roads this Independence Day as the state Department of Transportation suspends construction-related lane closures on highways from noon July 3 through 6 a.m. July 7.

With a record 1.5 million Tennesseans projected to travel, the pause aims to ease congestion and improve safety.

While no new closures will begin, some long-term work zones remain, and reduced speed limits still apply.

TDOT urges drivers to plan ahead and obey work zone laws, as fines for violations can reach $500.

Titans Welcome First NFL Majorette

Chloe Holladay, a former University of Alabama Crimsonette captain, has made history as the first-ever NFL baton twirler with the Tennessee Titans.

Holladay, who dreamed of the role since childhood, announced her new position in June via TikTok. She'll perform alongside the Titans' Blue Crew during home games this fall.

Her milestone marks the NFL's first majorette since the early 2000s, reviving a tradition absent from pro football for over two decades.
