Friend – I wish I were reaching out today with better news. I know you don’t hear from me often, so please know that when I make a plea like this, it really is necessary. The super PAC that pledged to spend their entire war chest to defeat me just spent $1 MILLION on a MEGA ad buy to crush my re-election campaign. The neocon establishment has put a bounty on my head because I won’t support foreign wars and won’t vote to continue letting our national debt SPIRAL out of control. I wish I could be more optimistic, but this is just the beginning of what is a declaration of ALL-OUT WAR on me and those who support me… And if I don’t pick up my fundraising efforts immediately, I'll be severely outmanned and outgunned. Because of this, what was just another end-of-quarter deadline has now become the biggest, most crucial deadline I’ve ever faced. Look, my least favorite part of my job is asking generous folks like you to sacrifice your hard-earned cash. That’s why I do it so rarely. I wouldn’t be asking for your help right now if it weren’t absolutely vital. But this isn’t an enemy I can take lightly. This is the most powerful political apparatus in America, sitting on a massive $500 MILLION war chest. Their smear campaign says I sided with a foreign country. Friend, the truth is, I sided with you. I didn't pledge my allegiance to my party or any of the Swamp creatures in D.C. I pledged to protect the Constitution at all costs and to keep my promises to the American people. They can’t stomach my presence in Washington because I'm a constant reminder of the promises they are BREAKING! They’re prepared to flood my race with immense sums of out-of-state cash to drag my name through the mud until they’ve BANISHED me from Washington for good.
