Phoenix Man Climbs Seven Summits

Phoenix Valley real estate agent Clayton Wolfe completed the Seven Summits challenge, reaching the top of Russia's Mt. Elbrus last week.

Wolfe began his climbs of the tallest mountain on each continent in 2019 by scaling Mt. Aconcagua and Mount McKinley.

Next, Wolfe plans to complete the Explorer's Grand Slam—a challenge only about 70 people have completed—by reaching the North and South poles.

Through his climbing, he has helped raise $15,000 for Saguaros Children's Charities and donated 59,128 servings of food to St. Mary's Food Bank.

State Down to One Sizzler

The iconic Sizzler restaurant chain permanently closed its last Phoenix-area location after 40 years in business.

The closure of the Maryvale site leaves the Sizzler in Flagstaff as the chain's only remaining Arizona restaurant.

Founded in 1958, Sizzler rose to fame for its affordable steaks and all-you-can-eat salad bars. The chain has faced mounting challenges in recent years, filing for bankruptcy in 2020.

At its peak, Sizzler operated 270 locations nationwide. Today, 74 remain open.

Mayo Clinic Named State's Best

U.S. News & World Report named Mayo Clinic-Arizona the state's best hospital for the 13th consecutive year in its latest rankings.

Nationally, Mayo Clinic-Arizona was ranked No. 10 in the report's national Honor Roll.

Banner Health hospitals in Phoenix and Tucson ranked No. 2 and No. 3 among hospitals in Arizona, respectively.

The study evaluated hospitals nationwide on outcomes such as mortality rates, complications, and nursing care.
