Hospitals Earn National Honors

Several Ohio hospitals are named among the nation's best in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings, posting strong showings in a range of medical specialties.

Cleveland Clinic topped the Ohio rankings and earned a spot on the publication's national honor roll of the 20 best hospitals, though it dropped from No. 1 in cardiology.

OSU Wexner Medical Center and OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital, both in Columbus, ranked second and third in Ohio, respectively.

Of the hospitals ranked in the state's top 10, six are in northeast Ohio, with two in Columbus, one in Cincinnati, and one in Kettering. The full statewide top 10 can be seen here.

AG: Fairs Can't Set Own Gun Limits

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost issued a formal opinion stating that county fair boards cannot enforce firearm bans that go beyond state or federal law.

The opinion comes after a 2024 incident at the Champaign County Fair, where St. Paris Police Chief Eric Smith was arrested for refusing to disarm while off duty.

Although the fair board defended its no-firearms policy, gun rights advocates argued the ban was illegal because fair boards are public entities subject to state law.

State law still allows firearms to be prohibited inside enclosed fair buildings, a provision not affected by the attorney general's opinion. The full opinion can be read here.

Jeep Fest Ready to Roll

The Toledo Jeep Fest returns this weekend for its eighth year, celebrating the city's storied connection to the iconic auto manufacturer. The event runs Friday through Sunday.

Festival highlights include an off-road course, Strongman competition, fireworks, a speaker series, and a digital scavenger hunt.
