Labor Day weekend is bittersweet. On the one hand, it's summer's send-off and I'm reticent to kiss beach days and those warm nights of outdoor dining goodbye. On the other hand, it marks the beginning of the transition into cozy fall—and I am all too ready to bid the endless sweaty subway commutes I've experienced over the last few months adieu in favor of cool mornings walking through foliage with a warm coffee.
While I haven't locked in my plans to celebrate, I am planning on shopping some of these Labor Day sales to get me ready for the fall, the holidays, and all the cold months to come.
A quaint Dansk mini saucpan to heat up butter and syrup
I've always wanted a mini saucepan for heating up butter so I don't have to use my microwave—and with the discount code RISEANDSHINE on Food52, now I can finally have one. I'm obssessed with the knoby handle on the Dansk and can't wait to keep it out on my stovetop all throughout fall.
Some rippled wine glasses that also double as drinking glasses
You can never own too much glassware—but if you're trying to keep things minimal, I suggest opting for something that can do double duty. These sculptural glasses are technically for wine, but I think you could also use them for any other drink in a pinch. Plus, they're wavy shape will look great on the shelf.
A set of our favorite mixing bowls
I'm super excited for the cooler months of fall, when I can turn my oven on without fear of dying from a heat stroke. I've got a long list of stuff I want to bake and, lucky for me, our favorite set of stainless steel mixing bowls is on sale right now for $10 off.
What sales are you shopping? Email me at megan_wahn@condenast.com—I need more deals to shop this long weekend.
