| Hi there reader! The last few weeks have been a whirlwind! We sold our home in Arizona, packed up some personal items in a storage unit, and made our overseas move to Barcelona!! We thankfully arrived with all 15 pieces of luggage...and our four kids😉 I still can't get over how beautiful it is here! As we expected, this move has been a bit of an adjustment. Here are a few examples: Language: now that we are here, the kids show much more interest in learning Spanish. With our help and encouragement, they practice speaking by ordering their own food, paying for things at the grocery store, asking simple questions to retail workers, or saying basic greetings to our neighbors.❤️ European Beaches and the swimwear (or lack thereof).😅 We had a good talk with our kids beforehand about the different culture here, and although it was strange at first, after a few visits to the beach, they no longer notice! Our Favorite Things:
Our Biggest Challenges: administrative tasks to do with moving to a new country: NIE's/visa documents, visits to our town hall and the federal police department (for fingerprints), setting up Internet, cell phones, finding a car for 6 people (European vehicles are very small), etc. Thanks for following our journey! ❤️ I'm happy to answer questions about my life here in my next email--submit them by simply responding to this email. |
