| New Indictment Filed Against TrumpSpecial counsel Jack Smith filed a new indictment against former President Trump on Tuesday, keeping the original charges but removing elements to comply with the Supreme Court’s ruling on executive immunity. The revised indictment no longer includes allegations that Trump sought to pressure the Department of Justice but still alleges that Trump engaged in a conspiracy to block the election’s certification. Smith’s office secured the superseding indictment from a federal grand jury in Washington and agreed to waive Trump’s appearance at an arraignment on the new charges. In posts on Truth Social, Trump said Smith was illegally appointed and labeled him "deranged." He called for the charges to be dismissed "immediately." | Zuckerberg: White House Policed COVID ContentMark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, claimed the White House pressured the company to censor COVID-19 content on Facebook and Instagram during the pandemic. In a letter to Rep. Jim Jordan, Zuckerberg said senior Biden administration officials repeatedly pushed Meta to censor certain content, leading the company to remove 20 million posts related to COVID-19. Zuckerberg also revealed that Facebook temporarily demoted a story about Hunter Biden's laptop following an FBI warning about potential Russian disinformation. He admitted, in hindsight, that he would not make the same choices today and believed that the government's pressure was wrong. | Free Sites Will Check Your Data SecurityTwo online security companies have set up free websites for people to check if their Social Security number, name, email address, phone number, or mailing address were associated with the 2.9 billion personal records recently leaked. On the National Public Data site, people can enter their name and zip code, or their Social Security number, or phone number, to search the breached data to see if they were affected. You can check for your information here. A different site by Pentester asks for people’s names, states, and birth years to search the stolen data. You can access that site here.
