The Thing Currently Letting Me Cook Without a Kitchen |
My colleague Emily Farris has been going on about the benefits of single burner induction cooktops almost since I met her and I just never get that excited about the idea...until my kitchen was ripped apart for construction and I had to assemble a kitchen in my dining room. I went out and bought the top rated cooktop from her testing, the Duxtop 9600LS, and I have jumped with both feet on to the small induction burner train. Cooking without a kitchen is no small thing and having such a powerful (but safe) little burner to use is the only thing that makes preparing real meals possible for me at this point. I don't want to overhype it. I'm not doing anything incredibly complicated at this point, but scrambled eggs for the kids, stir fries, one pot pasta meals, these are the things providing some sense of normalcy as I look at the giant hole in the back of the house. And that little burner is making it happen. If you too are ready to hop about the induction burner train, check out the ones we like down below or click on through to read the full review. —Noah Kaufman |
