☝️ It Only Takes One Habit At a Time

Last year, I listened to the audiobook The One Thing by Gary Keller. The book's premise is this πŸ‘‰what is the one thing you can do right now that will make everything else in your life better?

Initially, I listened to it for business purposes. Many of my professional blogger friends suggested it, so I added it to my audio summer book list.

As I listened to it, I started to connect it to the habits and goals I was trying to achieve with a healthy lifestyle. Like running a business, there's so much you can do to reach your end goal.

However, when you try to do everything, you ultimately do nothing. And this can make you feel:

😫 Overwhelmed

😫 Exhausted

😫 Frustrated

😫 Unmotivated

This was such a lightbulb moment with my business. But it also made me stop and think about the habits and routines necessary to create a healthy lifestyle.

People come to me all of the time for healthy lifestyle advice. A question I often get is, "where do I start?"

Well, I have many resources that outline every strategy someone needs to begin their healthy lifestyle or weight loss journey. And for some, that works.

But, I realized that even though these resources will help you get healthier and lose weight; If you're brand new to the game, the thought of even the smallest of changes to your lifestyle can be overwhelming.

Even the best weight loss plan can be too much to implement for a busy mom just starting. Trust me; I get it!

πŸ’‘Then it clicked. She needs something easy to understand, simple to implement immediately, and could experience quick wins to build the confidence to move on to more changes.

So, instead of trying to get an overwhelmed woman to follow a bunch of tips and strategies with the hopes of overhauling and changing her life, I decided to encourage her to focus on one eating habit at a time. That's it.

But what healthy eating habit should she focus on? There are so many!

I thought about the one eating habit that would make the most significant difference, even if she did nothing else. What would make her feel amazing and want to do more? What would make the rest of her life better? I thought about what worked for me.

Right away, I thought of smoothies. So, I ran a smoothie challenge in our Facebook group, and it was a HUGE success - it was so motivating!

Then, I followed it up with a mason jar salad challenge, and before I knew it, everyone was drinking smoothies, eating salads every day, and feeling fabulous.
