First dose appointments: Check the online vaccination scheduler daily for available appointments in your area. Remember, you can be vaccinated without cost at any of our drive-through locations in the state. Johnson & Johnson one-dose vaccine is available for March 4 appointments at our Madison and Lauderdale county drive-through vaccination sites, and for March 5 appointments at our Lowndes and Jones county sites. Other vaccination providers such as pharmacies and health clinics are also offering COVID-19 vaccinations. Check the list on our website, or search our map. Second dose appointments: Look for scheduling information for your second dose in your first dose confirmation e-mail. Remember that your second dose appointment should be made 3-5 weeks (for Pfizer vaccine) or 4-6 weeks (Moderna) from your first vaccination. Eligibility: Teachers and staff in K-12 schools, daycares and preschools are now eligible, as are first responders involved in law enforcement, public safety, fire services and emergency management. Adults 65 and over, and those ages 18-64 with certain chronic health conditions are eligible for vaccination in addition to healthcare personnel and EMTs/paramedics. Vaccinations are provided to Mississippi residents or to out-of-state residents who work in Mississippi. After you are vaccinated please continue to observe social distancing, mask use, and other protective steps. This helps prevent the possible transmission of COVID-19 to those who have not yet been vaccinated.
