As from tomorrow, the European Health and Digital Agency (HaDEA) will take up its role as the new body in charge of the financial management of key EU programmes. Among these are the newly adopted EU4Health programme (€5,1 billion), Horizon Europe: Pillar II, Cluster 1: Health: (€5,4 billion), and the Food safety side of Single Market Programme (€1,3 billion). The Digital Europe Programme (€0,8 billion), Connecting Europe Facility: Digital (€1,7 billion) and Horizon Europe: Pillar II, cluster 4: Digital, Industry and Space (€6,1 billion) will also feature as part of the new EU Agency aimed at monitoring these crucial health programmes. Established on 16 February 2021, HaDEA is located in Brussels. Its governance will be a Steering Committee composed of DG SANTE (lead parent DG, with Matthew Hudson, Director in DG SANTE, serving as interim Director) and DGs RTD, CNECT, GROW and DEFIS. It will start with around 280 staff, a figure which is expected to grow to more than 500 by 2027. |
