Call to action: Stop buying Doritos and M&M’s

The other day I was walking the candy aisle for Valentine's Day…

and realized that it was still so full of artificial dyes.

Endless rows of M&M's, Ring Pops, Goldbears, Skittles, Smarties, and Dum Dums – all filled with artificial petroleum-based Red 40, Blue 1, and Yellow 5.

Even worse…

These "treats" were packaged up for children to give out to their friends at school.

It is just so sad.

The next aisle over had a large Super Bowl display packed with artificially-dyed Doritos and Cheetos.

We are still being bombarded with these dyes everywhere we look.

I know that change is coming. Several brands have committed to removing dyes from their products within the next couple years, which will include Twizzlers, Jolly Ranchers, and Welch's Fruit Snacks.

This is great news because we're going to see these changes in the "holiday death aisle" soon.

However, we still have work to do.

There are two MAJOR food corporations who are holding out – and have NOT committed to removing dyes from their products:

  1. PepsiCo: They make Doritos, Cheetos, Gatorade, Cap'n Crunch, and Mountain Dew.
  2. Mars Candy: They make M&M's, Skittles, Starburst, and Life Savers.

It's insulting that these brands continue to poison Americans, while selling safer versions of their products in other countries.

PepsiCo went out and created a whole new "dye free" version of Doritos and Cheetos that doesn't solve the problem.

This is ridiculous.

Why don't they simply remove the artificial ingredients from regular Doritos and Cheetos that virtually everyone is buying?

Because they're making bank poisoning Americans for profit – that's why.

No one should be supporting these brands until they stop poisoning Americans with ingredients they don't use in other countries.

Americans should stop buying Doritos, M&M's, Skittles, Mountain Dew, and voting with our dollars until they finally do the right thing.

Regulatory change at the federal level is a complex process and takes a very long time.

This is why not buying their products is the best winning strategy.

These corporations are going to have to finally decide to stop poisoning Americans, and I'll be working every day to make sure that happens.

There are a couple ways you can help right now:

Above all else, vote with your dollars and choose healthier dye-free alternatives for Valentine's Day and the Super Bowl coming up.

Stay tuned to this email newsletter and my social media, as I'll be providing you with swaps in the coming weeks to make this easy for you. Thankfully there are much better options available nowadays.

Also if you're on social media, please share this reel on Instagram, Facebook, and X to put the pressure on PepsiCo.

It's going to take the entire Food Babe Army putting the pressure on these brands to make a big impact.

I'm rooting for all of us!

Let's change the holiday death aisle. Our future generations deserve it!

Xo,

Vani
