I hit my two year work anniversary earlier this month, which has had me reflecting a lot on those initial months I spent working here at Epi. While I'd like to think I'm a much better writer and product reviewer at this point, one thing I've become much worse about is meal prep, specifically when it comes to office lunches.
When I first started, I brought lunch into the office every day I came in without fail. I'd pack salads with homemade dressings into my favorite collapsible container, fill thermoses with hearty soups and stews, and wrap sandwiches into neat little bundles before slipping them into my work bag.
I don't exactly know what happened, but let's just say my meal prep and lunch packing routine is nowhere near what it used to be now, two years in. Maybe it's the back-to-school spirit getting to me, but I'm feeling inspired to take advantage of some current sales to invest in a few key items that'll make workday breakfasts and lunches feel more doable (and maybe even exciting). Here are the things in my cart right now:
A smoothie routine upgrade
As a sweet breakfast person through and through, a smoothie is almost always my weekday breakfast of choice. I've been using the same bullet-style blender for the better part of a decade, so I'm using the 21% discount on this Epi Kitchen MVP Award-winning model from Nutribullet as an excuse to make a long-awaited upgrade.
A soup season office lunch essential
There's nothing worse than packing a lunch and realizing you've forgotten utensils. This insulated container from Thermos (14% off right now) has a spoon that folds up and clips right into the lid, which means I'll never need to trek all over the office building in search of one again.
A restock of my favorite collapsible containers
I've long been a fan of Stojo's silicone food containers, and I was excited to find them marked down to just $10 at The Container Store right now. I love that I can collapse them when I'm done eating, which frees up space in my bag—a major plus considering I work a job that requires me to occasionally lug home, say, a cast-iron skillet for testing. They're also infinitely easier to store, unlike the medley of takeout containers I have spilling out of my cabinet currently.
