Hi reader,
Last year I took my daughter to the Whole Foods Hot Bar for her birthday lunch. We had the most amazing chicken tenders, a few so-so side dishes, and dessert for each of us - chocolate cupcake for her, carrot cake for me.
Naturally, we passed by several grocery carts while in the store. Do you know what stood out to me the most?
How ORDINARY the carts were.
- Apples
- Cheerios
- Orange Juice
- Bread
- Chicken
- Frozen Fruit
She saw these carts, pulled me aside, and whispered in my ear, "Mom, isn't this place expensive? It's known as "whole paycheck," right? Why would people shop here when they could buy the same food anywhere else for less?"
(I wonder where she got those ideas from π )
There are valid reasons for someone to shop at Whole Foods for groceries.
- Was already there for something else
- Closest store to their home
- Only store that carries a particular brand/item
- For foodies, it's a fun shopping experience
- Feeling that they're buying better food
But notice what isn't on this list…
Saving Money
