| This is a monthly highlight mail, with a round-up of recommendations just for you. I love getting tips from friends on what to read, watch, try, and listen to--preferably over coffee or lunch. So I hope this feels a little bit like that. π I'm also including new blog posts you may have missed. Real Mom RecommendationsRead: I've been loving City of Girls by Elizabeth Gilbert and am sad I'm almost done. My book group also read Notes on an Execution, which doesn't sound like the kind of book I'd like--but I absolutely loved it. So beautifully written. Watch: I started watching "Suits" (Netflix) and got sucked in. We also loved the nostalgia of "The Greatest Night in Pop" (also Netflix) about the "We Are The World" recording. (If you ask me, Sheila E got a raw deal.) Try: I got this white noise machine for our room and my teen's room. It's simple but just what we needed. And this paw paw ointment has been a lifesaver for my dry winter lips. Listen (shameless plug edition): I was on the Nutrition Unmeasured podcast talking about food fear mongering, tackling MSG, "clean" cupcakes, and my all-time favorite thing to eat. If you need more podcast ideas, I asked my Real Mom Facebook crowd for their favorites, and got a huge list you can see here. Wear: It's about that time to order a pair of Gola sneakers for the summer (I'm leaning toward the pink or baby blue stripes), but I'm intrigued by Cariumas--anyone have them and love or hate them? Follow: I have a new friend at Jazzercise named Jess. She's a food blogger and shares THE BEST kitchen tips on Instagram as The Kitchen Light (like this: did you know that the green lid on a can of parmesan cheese fits on a regular-mouth glass jar? I tried it and it works! You can make your own shaker jar of sunflower seeds, chia seeds, etc.) In Case You Missed ItHere are new posts I published on Real Mom Nutrition in February: Have a great weekend! Sally ps: Want to stay on my weekly email list but opt out of these monthly highlight messages? No sweat. Just tap here and I'll make it happen. |
