Outbreak Investigations & Safety Advisories Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition  The following is an update from FDA of concern to our subscribers. CORE Outbreak Investigation Table The CORE Outbreak Investigation Table is a list of outbreak and adverse event investigations primarily being managed by FDA's CORE Response Teams. The investigations are in a variety of stages, meaning that some outbreaks have limited information, and others may be near completion. The table will be updated weekly. This week's updates are: The outbreak of Salmonella Senftenberg linked to Jif brand peanut butter was added to the table. A recall was initiated, an outbreak advisory was issued, and FDA initiated an on-site inspection and sample collection. For the outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes (reference #1057) in a not yet identified product, the total case count has increased to 20. The adverse events associated with meal replacement drinks have ended and the FDA investigation has closed.
