Bananas are an excellent fruit that you can get year-round. Even in the winter, you can find fresh bananas at the store because they're grown in tropical climates. Because of this, they're one of my favorite winter fruits. And unlike other fruits that you may have to throw out if you don't eat them fast enough, ripe to overripe bananas make an excellent baking ingredient.
Adding bananas to breakfast and dessert recipes brings in flavor, sweetness, and moisture for an incredible taste. You've likely gotten the advice that when bananas start to go bad, you should make banana bread. I agree, and love making banana loaves; however, that is not the only recipe you can use this fruit for. It's great for bread, cakes, muffins, and more!
