4 Healthy Freezer Breakfast Recipes Kids Love!

Hey there reader,

Stocking my freezer with healthy recipes was one of the FIRST things I did when I committed to creating healthier eating habits. At that time, I was a BUSY working mom to two little kids, and there was no way I'd be able to cook healthy meals from scratch every day - I mean, who has that kind of time.

If I was going to eat healthy, I needed food ready to heat and eat. So, I decided to take time once a month and get my freezer stocked with homemade healthy meals.

Over a decade later, I'm a business owner, my kids are busy teenagers, and freezer meals are still one of the main strategies that keep healthy foods on the table - or in the car on the go.

Over the next few weeks, I will share my favorite freezer recipes and tips to make eating nutritious meals waaaaay easier.

I'm going to start with breakfast recipes.

Having breakfast in the freezer is a top priority.

✅ It saves my sanity every morning when I get my kids off to school.

✅ It saves me because we skip the drive-through.

✅ I can relax on the weekends or during school breaks because my kids can easily make a healthy breakfast for themselves.

✅ I stick to my healthy eating goals because I have portioned-out healthy breakfast recipes ready to eat.

Here are the breakfast recipes that are ALWAYS in my freezer. Bonus, my kids love these recipes too. 👇👇

Sausage and Cheese Breakfast Burritos

When I make these burritos, I make A LOT! Before freezer breakfast burritos, we'd head to the drive-thru many mornings, and I think we can all agree that's not a good habit. Making these burritos saves me time and money during our busy mornings. My kids love homemade breakfast burritos, so I feel like I'm always stocking up on these!

Banana Chocolate Chip Baked Oatmeal Cups

My youngest teenager is obsessed with these baked oatmeal cups. These are perfect for on the go, only take a minute or so to heat up, and can be enjoyed at the kitchen table or in the car, if you're in a rush. I often will even throw one in my kids' lunch bag.

Steel Cut Oatmeal

Both of my girls love oatmeal! I freeze oatmeal into individual servings, so it's easy to warm up for a quick, wholesome breakfast. Most of the time, we will enjoy a bowl with a drizzle of maple syrup, but you can stir in nut butter, fruit, or other nutritious extras.

Freezer Smoothie Kits

Of course, I had to add my freezer smoothie kits. These are easy and quick to make; I'll purchase bulk bags of frozen fruit from my local wholesale store and stock up on smoothie kits for the month. In the morning, I dump the ingredients into a blender; and pour the smoothie into a mason jar or Yeti for an easy on-the-go breakfast.

If eating a healthy breakfast is a struggle, I recommend blocking out some time this weekend to get your freezer stocked with one or all of these breakfast recipes. Check out the recipes on my blog for freezing and reheating tips.

If you make any recipes, I'd love it if you could share pictures on the OYS Facebook Group.

Have a great weekend!
