This eBulletin includes information on the Plant Protection Products (PPP) regulations in Great Britain (GB). | | Applications for the first approval of new active substances in GB are regulated under retained Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009. Applicant: BASF Agro B.V Substance: Cinmethylin - herbicidal active substance for controlling the growth of annual grasses and several broadleaf weed species in cereals Conclusion: HSE's conclusion is that the active substance is expected to meet the approval criteria The risk assessment which underpins the conclusion has been subject to public consultation and independent scientific advice from the Expert Committee on Pesticides (ECP). The input provided through these processes has been considered by HSE when finalising the conclusion on this new active substance. View the published conclusion Next steps: HSE has referred its conclusion that the active substance is expected to meet the approval criteria to GB administrations for their agreement to HSE taking the required regulatory decision. This is in accordance with the relevant provisions on delegated functions in the Agency Agreements under which this work is carried out.
