Hey There!
There's an old-world May tradition that I've wanted to share with you - making
Strawberry Wine.
It's such a simple recipe, no more than a few steps. But, it makes for gorgeous results - the wine turns vividly red, and is infused with the sweet, fragrant aroma of strawberries.
Here's why you should give it a try:
- It's a beautiful tradition. There's an old European tradition that calls for making strawberry-infused wines - especially in May and June. Folklore tells these strawberry wines were a bit of a love potion.
- It's super easy. Modern home brewers typically make strawberry wine by fermenting the berries with wine yeast. BUT, the traditional old-world method calls for adding the berries directly to white wine (with a little sugar or other sweetener). And it's so much easier.
- It's fun to share. I like to keep a bottle of the wine on hand for summer dinner parties. It's just that little something extra that can make an evening with friends feel special.
