More Information to Come on Socially Disadvantaged Farmer Debt Relief through the American Rescue Plan

To address these systemic challenges, the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 provides historic debt relief to socially disadvantaged producers including Black/African American, American Indian or Alaskan native, Hispanic or Latino, and Asian American or Pacific Islander.

Farm Service Agency Administrator Zach Ducheneaux writes about how USDA is now working to implement the Act, and that more guidance is forthcoming for socially disadvantaged borrowers with direct or guaranteed farm loans as well as Farm Storage Facility Loans.
