IPO Temporary Fee Changes are Ending

The IPO's temporary fee changes are ending on 31 March 2021 

 

To help our customers, the following temporary fee changes have been in place since 30 July. These temporary changes relate to patents, supplementary protection certificates (SPCs), trade marks and registered designs. 

  • Fees for extensions of time are zero. 
  • There is no surcharge for payment of a patent application fee after the date of filing. 
  • Fees to apply for reinstatement and restoration are zero. 
  • For patents and designs, there is no surcharge for late payment of a renewal fee. 
  • For trade marks, the surcharge for late payment of a renewal fee is £1. 

Any actions taken on or after 1 April 2021 will require the usual fee.
