The Best Cordless Lamp for Outdoor Dining |
During the summer, I try to take advantage of the good weather and long days by eating as many meals outside as possible. If I had a verdant backyard or a pergola covered patio, I'd be hosting al fresco dinner parties every weekend. I don't have either though so the best I can manage at my Brooklyn apartment is a more humble picnic on the rooftop my landlord says I'm not allowed to be on.
Regardless of venue though, all outdoor dining requires quality lighting and ambiance to keep the vibes going through the blue hours and late into the night. You could use candles or tea lights, but if you want something bright and reliable you'd be wise to take a cue from a local restaurant and pick up a rechargeable cordless table lamp instead.
They last for hours, require no batteries, and most importantly, imbue your splendid backyard table (or illegal roof blanket) in diffuse, atmospheric light. While it's a bit of an investment, I recommend the Poldina Pro by Zafferano.
Not only does the lamp look great, you can adjust the brightness level and color temperature to cultivate the precise lighting conditions you want. Plus, after your dinner is over, the light can provide just as much utility indoors, which makes it worth it in the long run. —Wilder Davies
