How 30 minutes immediately saves you 4 hours

Hi reader,

I know that sometimes we all feel like there isn't enough time in a day to make real food possible.

However, I've been cooking and eating real food from scratch for 12+ years now and there have only been a handful of times where I truly felt like there wasn't enough time.

So what's the difference? What am I doing that you're not?

I'm going to be thinking more about this in the coming weeks so that I can better serve you, but I did something this past weekend that made a big difference in my week in terms of saving time and money: batch cooking.

I don't usually set aside time just for batch cooking, but while the kids enjoyed their Saturday morning and my husband worked in the yard, I spent a couple hours in the kitchen getting ready for the week ahead. In this short time frame, I made:

The goal was to do a little work up front to make the rest of the week run smoother, and it worked!

This week we had muffins for breakfast, energy bites for snacks, meatballs for lunch, and cookie dough hummus for dessert.

With the exception of boiling pasta and cutting up fresh fruit (which I did while making dinner on Sunday), breakfast and lunches were made for the entire week.

Now I know you might not have 2 hours to spend in the kitchen, and that's okay. You can get a lot done in just 30 minutes.

In fact, if I only had 30 minutes, I would have done the meatballs, cookie dough hummus, and boiled pasta. At a minimum, lunches would be done – for SEVEN WHOLE DAYS!!

Do you have 30 minutes to spare sometime this week? Maybe just 15 minutes? We all get the same 24 hours, so use them wisely. ♥

Blessings,
