Hear from leaders from across the financial sector who will shine a light on the economic and social impacts from demographic change.
| Read this email in your browser. | | Join FP Analytics and AARP in-person next Wednesday, October 12th, for an important conversation about the importance of preparing for demographic change around the world. By 2050, the United Nations predicts that 16% of the global population will be over 65 years old, a considerable increase from the current 10%. Harnessing the experience and expertise of older adults will be vital to economic growth and development going forward, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, which are likely to become older before they become wealthy. Properly supported, the “longevity economy” of older workers and consumers can contribute to GDP growth, foreign direct investment, and innovation.
As the World Bank and International Monetary Fund host their annual meeting in Washington, D.C., FP Analytics and AARP will convene financial experts to identify ways that governments, multilateral development banks, international financial institutions, and civil society can come together to meet the challenges and opportunities presented by population aging. Register now to attend the discussion or to watch the livestream, which will feature leaders from major international institutions who are working on the front lines of these issues, including: - Dr. Maitreyi Bordia Das, Practice Manager of Urban, Disaster Risk Management, Resilience and Land Global Practice, World Bank
- Dr. Marco Stampini, Social Protection Lead Specialist, Inter-American Development Bank
- Peter Rundlet, Vice President, AARP International
Event Details: October 12, 2022 8 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. ET Washington, D.C.
