MEDIA ADVISORY
Media briefing: WHO at COP27 Climate Action for Health When: Thursday, 3 November 2022, 14:00-15:00 CET (Geneva) Context: Ahead of the start of the COP27 UN Climate Conference, to be held in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt, from 6 to 18 November 2022, WHO is holding this global press briefing to discuss our plans at the conference. This year’s COP is going to be just as important as the last, if only to build on all the incredible momentum generated in Glasgow. WHO has many activities planned at COP, but the centrepiece for events will be the WHO Health Pavilion, which is set to host over 40 side events focused on climate change and health. The pavilion will also feature an eye-catching and innovative artistic installation, which will be unveiled at the start of the conference. Please join us for this conversation and find out why health must be at the forefront of the negotiations. Speakers: - Dr Maria Neira, Director of Environment, Climate Change and Health, WHO
- Dr Diarmid Campbell-Lendrum, Head of the Climate Change and Health Unit, WHO
