πŸŽƒ NO CANDY Halloween Challenge πŸŽƒ + Weekly Update October 30th, 2022

Hey there reader,

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! We spent time between driving the kids around to work, games, and the usual. So, I thought it would be on the slower side, but I was wrong. Silly me for thinking I could have a relaxing weekend with teenagers.

In between all of the running around, I got groceries. Today, I'm making it a #1 priority to get meal prep done. I usually do, but last Sunday, I didn't because I was tired, and I would "do it the next day." Well, as you can imagine, that didn't happen, and lunch and some dinners were a struggle last week.

So, the first to get prepped are mason jar salads, overnight oats (for snacks), and smoothie kits. I'm going to keep dinners easy with slow cooker turkey meatballs, Italian stuffed peppers, chicken caesar salads (I'll grill some chicken), and cheeseburger meatloaf with roasted sweet potatoes—all my favorites and super easy to make.

Oh, one last thing. Tomorrow is Halloween, which means I'm doing my yearly "no candy" Halloween Challenge. This is my 6th year doing this challenge!

The "no candy" Halloween challenge is precisely how it sounds. No candy at all on Halloween - not even one Reese's PB cup.

I started doing this challenge because I wanted to prove that I had the discipline and willpower to stay away from candy during a day when candy would be in my face nonstop. I wanted to practice self-control.

Anyway, I succeeded. I haven't eaten a single piece of Halloween candy for six years straight.

Now, the reason I continue to do the "no candy" Halloween challenge is that the first year I did it, I found so much motivation by sticking to this challenge. Something as small as saying no to a Snickers bar showed that I do have self-discipline. I felt proud, and it gave me confidence.

Yes, I know one day is only a small win, but one day turns into two, which turns into a week and a month...you get it.

And that's what happened. My first "no candy" challenge led to staying focused throughout the entire holiday season, which is why I continue to do it. It is a great way to start off the holiday season.

Think about it...we are adults and can buy a package of Reese Peanut cups any time we want. So we will not die if we can't have a mini Snickers bar on Halloween.

Use this Halloween to prove that you have the willpower and self-discipline to be intentional with food. Join me in the "no candy" Halloween challenge this Thursday. Let me know in the Facebook group that you're going to take part in this challenge! Good luck!

Okay, let's get to our weekly newsletter.
