Happy Sunday! Can you believe today is Halloween? Tomorrow is November, which means (let me do the math for you) we're 25 days away from Thanksgiving, 28 days out from Hanukkah, and just 55 days away from Christmas. My personal Thanksgiving celebrations start early, as we have family coming into town the weekend prior — so by my calculations that means I should probably be defrosting a turkey less than two weeks from now. Two weeks to turkey!
If getting into the Thanksgiving spirit feels like a whirlwind assignment, you're not alone. Fortunately, I have the perfect gift for you and any other cooks who are jumping back into hosting or cooking: Thanksgiving Food Fest, our fresh and festive online event that will roll out Sunday through Thursday next week.
We designed Food Fest to fall right at the moment when you're starting to plan the nuts and bolts of your meal or what you're bringing. We wanted to gift you five cohesive, fascinating, and delicious Thanksgiving visions from five different cooks. If you're feeling less than inspired, I think you will be so pepped up to cook Thanksgiving after participating in Food Fest. You guys — the food is sooooo good.
What is Food Fest, and what does participating in it look like? It's simple: Sunday through Thursday, cozy up to your phone or iPad or laptop with a glass of wine for about 30 minutes at 8 p.m. ET and watch me, our team, and a guest chef in a gorgeous appointment-viewing video walk you through a Thanksgiving menu. While that video is going, right next to it, we'll have a live chat section running with the cook and our editors. If you're watching Dorie and her French-inspired Thanksgiving, you can jump right in the chat during that half hour and ask her a question! If you're watching Shanika and her plant-based Thanksgiving menu, hop into the chat and ask for other plant-based ideas. You get the idea: It's a half hour of fantastic food TV, but you get to talk to the star while you're watching.
We think it's pretty special and exciting — I have my snacks and wine all picked out and I'll be right there with you in the chat. Whatever your television or game night plans are, make sure you have a half hour each evening to come to Thanksgiving Food Fest with us. Here's the schedule — see you there.
