Medtronic Recalls HVAD Pump Implant Kits Due to Delayed or Failed Restart After the Pump is Stopped Medtronic is recalling the HVAD Pump Implant Kits because the device may fail to initially start, restart, or have a delay in restarting after the pump was stopped. If this happens, this may lead to serious adverse events, including heart attack or death. The FDA has identified this as a Class I recall, the most serious type of recall. Read the Recall Notice
