It's Been 10 Years!! + Weekly Recap (March 7th)

Hey there reader,

I've been looking forward to this weekly newsletter ALL WEEK. Why? Because today is the 10th anniversary of Organize Yourself Skinny.

Yup! 10 years ago (one decade), I hit publish on my first blog post - tacos.

Hahaha, a pound of ground turkey and a taco seasoning pack. That's the very first recipe I shared on my blog!

Nothing groundbreaking, but you have to start somewhere.

Ten years later, I'm still sharing healthy meal prep recipes, but they're a little more advance than tacos. However, we do continue to eat a lot of tacos.

I've learned so much about blogging and living a healthy lifestyle in the last decade. Honestly, a lot of the lessons I learned are the same.

Here are a few words of wisdom. I'm going to share more on Instagram this week, so follow me over there if you'd like to hear more.

Just get started. It's so easy to put off things, no matter what it is—starting a business, changing eating habits, organizing your house, starting an exercise routine, whatever.

My advice is just to get started, even if you don't have it figured out or you're moving slow. You don't want to look back in 1, 2, or 10 years and say I wish I did "fill in the blank."

Focus on solutions, not excuses. There's always going to be a reason to quit. Instead of focusing on the reasons you should stop, change your mind to focus on making it happen.

Trust me; there's a solution for everything.

Get systems in place that help you function from a place of rest, not stress. I didn't learn this until later on, but it has been a game-changer for me.

Running a business and keeping up with a healthy lifestyle is so much easier when I'm not trying to survive each day. Put in place habits and routines that'll help you thrive, not survive.

Keep going. Persistence is what will separate those that succeed and those who don't.

As I said, it's easy to give up. Success comes from moving forward despite all the obstacles and challenges that come your way.

I can go on and on, but I'll leave you with that. Again, come over on Instagram to hear me chat more about the last decade.

Moving forward.

Before I jump into my meal plan and exercise routine, I just want to share that Butcher Box has their super-popular free ground beef for life sale. New subscribers will get 2lbs of ground beef in every box for the life of their membership. You can get the deal here.

Let's get to my meal plan and exercise routine.

Last week, I felt back in the game. I stayed on track with food, thanks to taking the time to prepare most of our meals on Sunday. And I exercise for four days. My goal is to get back to 5 days, but I'm happy with 4. I feel good!

Here's my meal plan this week.

Breakfast

Daily Harvest Smoothies (I have a week's worth of smoothies left that I want to finish up)

Lunch

I have a bunch of soups in the freezer that I'll be eating for lunch this week.

Cheeseburger soup

Buffalo Chicken soup

Dinner

**Over the next couple of weeks, we are going to eat dinners out of our freezer. I have a wide variety of individual meals, stews, chili, and frozen meats that I need to clear out.

Burrito bowls with pulled pork and veggies.

Guinness Beef Stew

Chicken Cacciatore

Shrimp Fried Rice

Baked Ziti using this marinara sauce I have in the freezer.
