Mar 4, 2021 No. 22 I've vacuumed up a pound of glitter this week, and I'm not sorry. It's that time of year where everyone is feeling cooped up and zany, so we lean on whatever we can to keep the boredom at bay. In this issue, we have the ultimate starter guide to art supplies, plus a few more excellent ideas to help your family live their best (most fun!) lives.
Kids are creators — messy, wild, and sometimes destructive little creators who need a few basic art supplies to get their juices flowing. Setting up and stocking an art station for kids can be a bit overwhelming, especially if you yourself aren't naturally drawn (pun intended!) to the joy of discovering the latest and greatest in art supplies.
With simplicity and organization in mind, I've compiled a guide of my favorite kids' art supplies that will give you a recipe to get stocked and organized. Whether you're looking to create an entire art room, or just a small stash for when little ones come to visit, this starter kit will guide you. cubby ❤️ We're marking our calendars for March 16, when Michelle Obama's "Waffles and Mochi" hits Netflix streaming. cubby finds: marvelous mobiles ask maxwell Now that school is reopening in my neighborhood again, I need a new lunch box for my kid. What's the best one you've found? - Holly Dear Holly,
Over at The Kitchn, they've spent a good deal of time testing and writing about lunch boxes, and I've tried them all. My main problem is that my daughter has not met a lunch box that she doesn't fall in love with (and quickly out again), so that our house filled up with a graveyard of orphaned lunch boxes. Also, she tends to lose pieces somehow, so the orphanage just grows.
That said, I did stumble upon a design that has worked really well for MOST of her school time and which I doubled down on a few years ago, getting us into a nice rhythm with less orphan moments. The challenge was that the box had to be leak-proof, easy to wash and come with many different compartment sizes. Most of those we'd had were not leak-proof and that always led to a mess.
