Department for Transport Review of Heavy Vehicle Testing

The Department for Transport (DfT) has undertaken a review of heavy vehicle testing, in conjunction with DVSA and the industry.

The review has been published today, Wednesday 10 March. You can read the report on GOV.UK.

Working in partnership

The report makes a number of conclusions and recommendations about the heavy vehicle testing service.

Over the next few months, we'll be working in partnership with DfT, vehicle operators, Authorised Testing Facilities (ATFs) and trade bodies to decide how we can take forward the recommendations. This will include working out the timescales for implementation.

What happens next?

We'll communicate with you regularly on our progress, though direct messages like this one and our Moving On blog.

We want to ensure our customers are fully involved in how we implement the recommendations – to make sure that the service works well for all.  We will let you know about opportunities to be involved in this work.
